Beechworth Barrel Tours provides a unique way to discover untried tasting pleasures.
The novelty of sampling upcoming vintages directly from the barrels, as opposed to a usual tasting in a formal cellar door setting, is the inspiration for our name!
There are some 34 wineries within an easy drive of Beechworth, and Beechworth Barrel Tours offers unique access to vineyards that do not necessarily have dedicated cellar doors or tasting rooms.
You may visit up to five wineries during our five-hour tour. Each tour is designed around the availability of the winemakers at that time, and each visit is by appointment only.
With Beechworth Barrel Tours, you enjoy a minimum of two tastings at each vineyard, and each wine we taste is chosen at the discretion of the winemaker.
Whilst exercising your passion for handcrafted Beechworth wines, we indulge your appetite with five courses of gourmet fare provided by Sally of Taste Trekkers.
Sally ensures that her tasting platters are a perfect match for the winery’s offerings at each stop, and, the more substantial lunch-course at a particular vineyard, with a complimentary glass of matched wine selected by the winemaker, is a foodie’s true delight.
Not surprisingly, each Beechworth Barrel Tour begins and ends in Beechworth. The optional extras of meeting for coffee at Project 49 before we start, or, topping off the day by going on to a fabulous fine-dining experience at The Empire Hotel with matching wines of the day, are always popular.
Tour costs include transport and all wine tastings and the five-course Taste Trekkers gourmet experience, and will vary according to the number of people in your group.

Beechworth Barrel Tours offer small group tours of the region. Beechworth is home to more than two dozen vineyards that are tended by winegrowing families with a fierce independence and a passion for making the very best artisan wines.
Join us for a select tour of the wineries in the region that otherwise are not accessible.
